As long as your KaptivoCast is connected to the Internet, its firmware should automatically upgrade over the air to the latest version. If you wish to manually upgrade the firmware, this article describes the steps.
1. Download the firmware file onto your PC. Go to the KaptivoCast Firmware Release Notes page to see a list of the latest versions. For each release, you'll see a link where you can download the upgrade file.
2. Enter the IP address of the KaptivoCast in your browser to access the device configuration section. You will need to know the username and password of the device in order to make changes. The IP address is shown on the idle screen of the Cast.
If the Kaptivocast is directly connected to the Kaptivocamera, or on a network without DHCP, it will self-assign an IP Address of 169.254.102.2/24. In this case, you can set your computer to use an address in the same rang, for example 169.254.102.100 netmast 255.255.0.0.
If you have previously set the Kaptivocast to not display the idle screen (Turn off HDMI when not sharing) you will need to reboot the Kaptivocast (pull the power and plug it back in). This will make the Kaptivocast display the idle screen for a few seconds before turning off the HDMI port. Be sure to have your marker ready to jot down the IP Address when the idle screen appears.
3. Once in the Configuration section, go to Advanced Settings area and select the Select a File button. From there, use the file you downloaded in Step 1.
